Is Gmod still worth it from a developers side of things. Posted: 24 Dec 2020 10:43 PM PST I've been interested in creating gamemodes and other addons for Gmod for some time, I have a decent background in coding and have previously messed with Glua in the past. I has already started making a gamemode base that I could derive any of my gamemodes from but then I decided to take a look at the numbers. I initially thought it'd be worth it based on the number of players playing Gmod still, but when I went to check again this time in the server browser I noticed a majority of the player base is just in DarkRP and it made me wonder would it even really be worth the time invested to make a gamemode if the majority are just interested in darkRP when I was expecting things to be a bit more spread out. DarkRP was the only gamemode with a decent amount of players when I had checked other gamemdoes like TTT and PropHunt were sitting around 75-150 players. So in short is it worth making new gamemodes, what would be the chances others would play then (especially since my ideas are nothing like DarkRP) [link] [comments]

I'm trying to find the Gmod animation the name of which I've forgot Posted: 25 Dec 2020 01:39 AM PST Dear redditors, there was a video on the Youtube on which a Gmod animator shows Kim Jong Un to shake hands with Trump, depicted by the Soldier. I'm trying to find this shit for a month, cuz it was a funny video and I want to rewatch it. Plz help [link] [comments]

Happy Birthday, Gmod! Here's the next animated part of my "A Source Engine Christmas"! Posted: 24 Dec 2020 07:38 PM PST I didn't realize Gmod was actually released on this day! Cool! :D Oh and before you go off on me about the Blaziken ragdoll and the cameo from an anthro snake (she and that spy are future characters), hear me out first of all: My intent to use these adult models is not for their intended lewd purposes, rather than, use them as actors, characters, visual gags, etc. Basically, not pornography, but comedy! (though i really wish i had extra clothing options to cover these models up, would help alot trying for a perfect PG-13 rating.) These models are the highest of quality you can ever get from Gmod, and it's basically ripped right outta SFM, really! Sadly many of them aren't available to the public and you'll have the scrounge around on the reaches of the web to get your hands on them! Afterall Source Filmmaker is a part of the Source Engine afterall, and it belongs in my multi-source universe! They are a work of art to behold and i give major props to the modelers whom created them, and a HEARTY thanks to the porters whom brang them into the Source Engine Sandbox Crossover World that is Garry's Mod. With that said, i hope you understand where i come from and why these models are being used. It's as simple as that, extra ragdolls to play as characters and actors. Also this is my first time voice acting and i sound as autistic as ever! Who cares, it's my first time doing this sorta thing anyway, gimme a break! Sorry if it's hard to hear at times, shitty microphone, i have. Here's a link to the first part of the animation! Don't worry, i'll use more source engine games content the next part. I Promise! Posted: 24 Dec 2020 08:09 PM PST Like the title says I'm having problems launching gmod on my Dell laptop on windows 10. It's a pretty thin laptop so I guess it might not have something it needs.? Any help is appreciated. Here's what happens. On steam, clicks gmod, takes me to page, created desktop icon to double check, click either, little box pops up and says getting ready to launch, screen zooms way in and looks like it's about to launch like normal but then the launcher closes and gmod never opens. Please help. [link] [comments]

my boys I am in need of some help Posted: 24 Dec 2020 03:21 PM PST so, whenever I try and join any Gmod server, I am greeted with the prompt "This server is running on a newer version". But the weird part is my game is at the latest version. if anyone has some help for me that would be great. I have tried restarting the game, restarting steam, factory restarting Gmod and even restarted my computer. Another thing is that it is only happening on my desktop computer. My laptop doesn't have any problems when I try. So if anyone has some help for me I would appreciate it [link] [comments]

Posted: 24 Dec 2020 01:50 PM PST for some odd reason, my gmod would never open and just say "Access is Denied." can someone help? i'd appreciate it, i'm not sure what it is or what but it just won't let me in, i usually have to just uninstall the game then open it with the "open when installation is finished". once again, i'd appreciate some guidance.
