How Do Some Servers Do Downloads While Ingame? Posted: 18 Apr 2020 01:14 AM PDT I've noticed that in order to make load times quicker, some servers have you download their mods/addons while already playing the game. Here is a screenshot of what I'm talking about, with the bar at the bottom showing models are still downloading while the user is playing: Bar at bottom shows downloading playermodel while already playing Any idea what mod does this? Personal TTT Server Help Posted: 17 Apr 2020 05:27 PM PDT I hope this is an appropriate post for this sub, so if not, feel free to remove mods. I'm trying to host my own TTT server with some mods for a few of my friends and I on my home ubuntu server. I have been attempting to use this docker image and have used the following run command with it: docker run -i -t \ --net=host \ -p 27015:27015/tcp \ -p 27015:27015/udp \ -e "AUTHKEY=..." \ -e "GAMEMODE=terrortown" \ -e "MAP=ttt_Clue_se" \ -e "WORKSHOPCOLLECTIONID=2055599961" \ -v ttt:/opt/steam/garrysmod \ hackebein/garrysmod bash ttt is a volume that I have that is just the root of the garrysmod folder so I can save the server.cfg. This is my server config: https://pastebin.com/F3m0nakk When the server starts, I can connect to it easily locally, although others attempting to connect from WAN are seeing "Can't connect to server". I'm fairly certain the ports are being forwarded properly, as they can see the server and we have confirmed through `netstat`. I have seen posts stating that I may need to add the following to my server.cfg: sv_lan 0 maxplayers 32 heartbeat map tt_clue_se although when I do so I run into some server errors that results in a loop on startup.
