| Facepunch should to cancel Sandbox Posted: 23 Nov 2019 05:58 PM PST I never liked an idea of a spiritual successor to Garry's Mod that runs on Unreal Engine. It would be great if it got canceled. Source 2 is coming next year, and with it we could have an another modding revolution. Unreal Engine will never ever capture the feel of Source no matter what. It's easier to make mods for Source as well. Just look at Project Borealis. An Half-Life HUD, weapons and environments in Unreal Engine, and it looks horrible. Don't get me wrong, I respect the modders that are making it but it just look weird. Gmod 2 on Source 2. Can you imagine that? That would be so incredibly fucking good and I feel like that's what Facepunch has to make if they want a game that's basically Gmod 2. [link] [comments]  | ||

| Timing out while downloading fonts and materials Posted: 23 Nov 2019 05:24 PM PST I recently just got back into gmod and wanted to play some DarkRP, but when I load into a server almost 100% of the time my game pretty much freezes and ends up timing out when it starts trying to download fonts or materials. I've installed tons of DarkRP collections but haven't been able to resolve the problem. I've only been able to load into Superior Server's DarkRP servers and don't have issues loading into game modes like TTT. Thanks for the help! [link] [comments]  | ||
