No your game isn't broken, and no you didn't do anything wrong Posted: 22 Dec 2015 04:41 PM PST TL;DR: If your game looks like this then buy this or follow this, alternatively here's a video if you prefer. You probably just bought Gmod and joined a server only to be greeted by something like this, am I right? Don't worry, there's actually nothing wrong. I know it looks bad but that's pretty normal, (if you plan on playing Gmod, or any Source Engine game for that matter, you'll run into this a lot) and easy to fix. The most common reason why you're seeing this is because you don't own/have Counter Strike: Source installed and mounted to Garry's Mod. If you don't already own Counter Strike: Source then I'd recommend buying it while it's on sale for the holidays, however if you don't want to buy and install a game you'll probably never play then you can follow this guide to get the models and textures for free. Alternatively if you prefer following along with a video here's one that shows step by step what to do. If, however, you already own CSS then: Install it Open up the game from your Steam Library and play it (At least til you get to the start menu) Exit out of the game and open up Garry's Mod While at the start menu look in the bottom right hand corner and click the little controller icon Find Counter Strike: Source and click the checkbox And you're done. You successfully mounted CSS to your game and shouldn't run into much of any missing textures or models while you're playing. submitted by /u/Delta7x [link] [comments]

Can't find old tool. Posted: 07 Aug 2019 06:56 PM PDT I've been trying to find an old tool that I believe was once a part of stock gmod, but I can't seem to find it anymore. It was the tool that could create multiple props from one prop. When you used the tool, it would make the first prop transparent. When you pressed a key, it would spawn a prop from the transparent prop. I can't even remember the name of it so I can't even search for it on the workshop. Until the end of 2019, I will be doing 4 different surveys on this topic. Each survey will be launched only once and on different months to avoid fatiguing the community. The only exception is the 2nd survey which will be launched a second time, one month after all 4 surveys have been launched, because I need a larger sample for the 2nd survey. ​ All surveys are anonymous and done on Google Forms. The data from the surveys will only be used for my PhD thesis and to develop 6 articles that will be published in scientific journals. The participation of all esports fans is extremely important and greatly appreciated (surveys are only for people who watch/participate in esports). ​ This is the 3rd survey. How to make enemy NPCs not prioritize you over friendly NPCs? Posted: 07 Aug 2019 08:00 AM PDT I like to make battles and fight enemy NPCs along with a squad of friendly NPCs but one thing that really annoys me is that enemy NPCs always target you over the friendlies, sometimes going as far as running through a crowd of friendlies in order to get to you; being killed in the process.
