    UNKNOWN SAVE I NEVER SUBSCRIBED TO OR SAVED! WHAT IS IT?

    I tried to join the save and it said \"Missing map, gm_testingdepot\"

    I launched Gmod, and joined a map in which I have a save set up with npc's and props.When I entered the saves section, I saw a save with no thumbnail, no description. It was named "My First Memories" I tried to enter it and it said "Missing map, gm_testingdepot" I searched the workshop to see if I could find the missing map. I downloaded a workshop item, and I got into the save. It's empty, no ambiance, no sound except for the sounds from the spawn menu, hud, flashlight etc., nothing at all. It's just darkness.

    This is what I see when I load the save.

    My first memory was also darkness as I remember.
    I also remember experiencing it. Just thought it was interesting.

    I'm interested in what this is and what it means.
    If anyone has some information please tell us.

    P.S Some of this is copy-pasted from my workshop comment.

    UPDATE: Me and a couple of other people interested in this anomaly managed to find the map's .GMA, decompile, and explore the files from the decompiled map.

    What we found was a lua file for when the player enters the map, the map plays an audio file that is also found in the decompiled map files.
    Here it is:

    We took the decompiled map .BSP file and opened it with the HammerEdittor.

    This is what we found:

    We set it to preview how it would look in-game.

    It's all black, just like when you enter the map in Gmod.

    The brushes made to create the box where we suppose the player spawns inside, was painted in black which would explain why the flashlight did not illuminate the suroundings.

    Possible explanation for why the flashlight doesn't illuminate the suroundings in-game.

    The map doesn't feature any trigger brushes, interactive entities, and it doesn't have a spawn-point set.

    This version could be missing some entities because of the decompile.
    When you decompile, the map is less stable and can have missing properties of the map.

    This may be the case, cosidering there is no spawn-point.

    We have tried to decompile the map with a custom assets options to try and preserve the entities of the map while decompiling, but didn't seem to have an affect.

    We have found a link to a website that is innactive at this time.

    We have tried to use the way-back machine to find an archive of the website when it was active, but they did not have any archived data on the website.

    Note about the author of the map.

    The author of the map (gm_testingdepot) has had Multiple V.A.C ban records on their account.

    Note about the history of the map.

    The authors map was once been removed from the community workshop for voilating Steam Community and Content Guidelines.

    These both records might suggest malicious intent from the author.

    Note: The map can not be found in the authors profiles Gmod's workshop submissions.

    This is where the investigation ends.

    We have figured out that the save is harmless and does not pose a threat (atleast in our case), we have also created a hypothesys for how it spreads.

    It seems to spread through Steam's friends list.

    It seems to have started spreading recently as there aren't many individuals sharing this anomaly, and the map was created on 30th of December, 2020.

    I predict that this will reach you sooner or later.

    Don't be surprised if it appears in your saves.

    We suspect that the causer is the creator of the map for not providing an answer when asked if they are associated with the save, and because their map being used for the save itself.

    We would like to mention that the author of the map has been online during the investigation and partialy during the writing of this update.

    UPDATE'S CLOSING NOTE:

    We know that the save is harmless at the time of posting this update.

    We do not know how the save is being forced into our save list.

    We do not know why it's being spread.

    We do not know the causers intentions.

    ​

    If I receive any more information, I will update the post.

    The weirdest gun i've made....

    I got this ArcCW MW2 mod from a random server and decided to keep it, I've customized a few of the weapons until i found this gem. The 'Fucket' seems to be this 18th century rifle. I added quite a few weird attachments to this thing, On purpose of course. I'm no maniac.

    This is not about the Game, This is about the GMOD Art Community.

    I'm a super Fan of Splatoon and I really love the Game so much, but I really prefer to make Art of The Game than Play the Game. It's weird, but that's how I am. But Splat Source was being knew of be one of the Most Toxics Sub-Communities in the Source Engine Community and the worst of this is that I was being Attacked, Insulted, Bullied and "Exposed" by Several Toxic Users from There, Especially in my Favourite Social Network: Twitter. I said I wasn't part of their Community, but They ignored me and They continued Attacking me as Fuck (Principally because I like to see NSFW). What I should do if the community of the game that I really love are staying Attacking me and Bullying me? This is something that The Bestest People of here will Understand.
