Enhanced playermodel selector is not working for me Posted: 10 Jan 2021 02:23 AM PST I have been spending all night trying to get enhanced playermodel selector working on servers where it should be working. It works in sandbox just fine but when I go on to hide n seek or swamp cinema I can't get it working for the life of me. Every tutorial on YouTube uses hide n seek as an example and swamp cinema is a madhouse so I don't know why it's not working. I have tried all the console commands it says to try but nothing happens and it says something like "command unknown". I'm pretty new to Gmod in general so mabey there's something really obvious that has went over my head that I have no idea about. Looking to start a public server Posted: 09 Jan 2021 06:30 PM PST Hey everyone. I recently built a new computer, and now my old gaming computer is just collecting dust. I've been wanting to start a gmod server for a while, but I've never felt like paying a hosting company to get it all setup. I was thinking about turning my old computer (which is still pretty powerful, with an i7, 32 GB of RAM, SSD storage, etc.) into a server computer, but I just had a couple of questions before I sink a bunch of time into something for nothing. Is it safe? I know someone who was a certified network analyst, and they said that hosting a public server is no big deal. However, I have seen stuff that says otherwise, and the way I see it tge more information the merrier. How difficult is it? Am I going to spend hours upon hours troubleshooting or is it a piece of cake? Is it hard to build a gmod community or do people flock to servers rapidly? How much of my own stuff do I need to make? I'm an amateur 3D modeler and a game programmer, but is there already stuff on the steam workshop that I can use to make development go by quicker or is that frowned upon? Sorry if I sound like a complete idiot, but servers and networking aren't my forte, game design and programming are lol.
