    As the question says if anyone can help me fix the problems I have with gmod that I have been having for years now..:

    • when I play online I lag a lot.. I have a good ping seen from where I am and where are the servers (about 140ms of ping I usually). Multi-rendering is active..

    • when I do the cache check I always have 16 files not validated and it happens that when I play offline some weapons or props are bugged so I have to double check the cache

    • when I play offline I have noticed that HEV Suit has a very primitive texture, that is, it has a very polygonal shape.

    warning: I have a gtx 1060, 16gb ram, i7 7gen and I have many mods I would not want them to be the ones lmao

    Absurdly slow downloads, I am losing my mind

    I wanted to play in a couple of servers, but the downloads are ridiculously slow.

    Doesn't matter how large the server files are. I am trying to join a server with only 2.2GB of files, but my Gmod is still downloading at 250KB/s. I have been waiting for AN HOUR for the files to download.

    Before you say "Maybe your connection is slow, or your network drivers are outdated", it definitely isn't on my end, because my browser downloads at a SOLID 5MB/s, on busy days.

    I reinstalled my entire Steam library yesterday, including Gmod, but it's still very slow. I cleared the Steam download cache, closed everything else in the background, restarted the PC, to no avail.

    How do you people play this game? I'm going nuts with all this waiting. Maybe the server isn't even THAT enjoyable, and I'll just want to play in another one with over 10GB of files!

    What should I do? Throwing my PC out the window isn't an option by the day, I already considered it and it's not worth the effort.

    EDIT: Just unsubcribed from every addon I had. Also ran a command called "menu_cleanupgmas" or something like that. Still slow.

    EDIT EDIT: Should I mention I have tons of launch options for optimising the game's performance? That my settings are to the lowest, windowed, 800x600, Garry's Mod 64-bit version? And it STILL downloads this slow?
