Trying to find a specific map!

    Posted: 03 Nov 2020 08:33 PM PST

I recently got back into posing ragdolls and making scenes and such for Garry's Mod and I remembered this one map but I can't find it. It took place in a basement, had a 80's-90's feel to it, a couch in the middle of the room, a small window to show it was raining outside, and band posters on the walls. I can't remember the name nor can I find it. Is anyone familiar with this map?

GMOD server and what would you like to see in it

    Posted: 03 Nov 2020 07:35 PM PST

After not finding servers that actually made me enjoy playing for long periods of time me and my friends decided to make one.

We have staff that are all mature and everything like that and we try and do everything to set us apart from the normal server list but we struggle to get a player base going, Like i said we have staff we have forums and we have a developer with private addons that he created that are actually really good but we still struggle to get people in the server. We have a couple people join each day but they leave as soon as they start to load into the server like they changed their minds and the people that do actually join play for a couple hours and leave and most of them join back later in the evening and they actually enjoy the server, But we still cant keep a player base above 10 most we have hit is 8 which isn't fun. We are still in development and working on things usually the whole day and night everyday trying to get everything perfect for the players when and if they join but it just never seems to be enough.

Ok, on to my second point what would you like to see in a DarkRP server its not SeriousRP we have no cars OP suits and weapons because I don't see those as fun and all my buddies agreed on that but im curious if we could do anything to better our server to entice more people to join and stay

BTW I wont be posting the IP as i feel that is begging for people to join and i feel that it wouldnt help

Can't upload addons to the workshop

    Posted: 03 Nov 2020 06:24 PM PST

It's been years since I've uploaded something to the workshop so I thought of uploading a sound mod which replaces the default footsteps. I made a little 512x512 icon for it in photoshop, made the gma and then uploaded the file. This is where my problem begins.

Every single addon publisher I've tried (GMPU, GAC, GAP, Crowbar) gives me "Generic Failure" and uploads a 0.000 MB blank file with no icon to the workshop. At first I thought the image file was corrupted, but even when I replaced it with a crudely drawn 512x512 ms paint icon, it still gave me the same result.

I thought my addon was the problem, so I tried reuploading a random addon I found on the workshop. Guess what, same error. The JSON file that I myself made is fine and so are the ones that have automatically been created by these publishing tools I've used so that can't be the problem.

I've even tried restarting my computer but absolutely nothing has worked.

    Too many verts

    Posted: 03 Nov 2020 03:14 PM PST

I got the error while trying to load into a DarkRP server that reads:

"Too many verts for a dynamic vertex buffer (25806>24576)

    How do I fix this?

I was inspired by the video "That Creepy Feeling - What is it with Source games?" made by The Librarian. Tried to capture the atmosphere of a regular singleplayer session on gmod, except some things aren't quite right.

I haven’t been able to play Gmod for over a month

    Posted: 03 Nov 2020 08:48 AM PST

I can open the game and all that stuff just fine, but the moment I join a single player server (not sure if this applies to multiplayer) the game will load, get stuck on starting lua, and then crash. This happens every single time. I've checked steam forums, everyone was having problems with the same thing, no solution, and then after a few days the problems just completely disappeared. I don't know if steam is deleting them or if it's solved for everyone else, but regardless, if anyone has any solutions or something, please tell me. Also (forgive me for being a wuss, but) I am too scared to do anything with the files, or uninstalling all my mods, as I have at least 700 at this point. Please don't be mad at me because of this. I also don't want to get an entirely new pc or motherboard, as (again, forgive me) it's a prebuilt.
