What the Gbomb5 T-virus Is and what if you dropped the Gbomb5 T-virus in a multiplayer server?

    Posted: 22 Jan 2020 03:03 PM PST

So I've been messing around with gbomb 5's t-virus. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=91099462

I found it fun using it on npcs. I would litter a map with NPCs, drop it in and watch as the entire map be consumed by T-virus. I made a demonstration video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQ4Hd7DPxxw& but just in case you don't want to watch it I will explain it here how it works

In the entities where you find your gbomb stuff, you'll find a chemical tag. In that chemicals tag, there are a few things but the two things we're gonna be looking at are the t-virus and its cure.

When you spawn it the t-virus will be in its classic vile and if you drop it high enough it will break. if any NPC or player is near it when it brakes they will be infected.

If you spawn the cure and break it then anyone near it who has the T-virus will be cure unless they have been infected for a certain amount of time. I believe the time is the same time the npc or player starts showing symptoms of the virus.

The infect NPC or player Symptoms of the virus start to slowly turn red. The Player will start to hear creepy music and their vision slowly get darker until there completely red and the player's vision is completely blind of darkness.

This is then accompanied by a growling noise emitted by the player or npcs which is the big red signal saying there about to turn to a zombie. The player or npc will then die and in there place a hl2 T-virus zombie.

Note to consider is that if an NPC or player gets closed to an infect npc or player they too will get infected. Also if the player or NPC that was infected die before the virus kills them they will still spawn in a T-virus zombie.

Another note is that I believe that you can get infect through props. Map walls I believe will keep you protected from the infected. I may be wrong since I did not test this out yet. I will make a note later.

As for the t-virus zombie or TZs we will be calling them from now on is basically HL2 zombies but with two differences. They, like infected NPCs and players, will infect anyone who gets near them and they have a shit ton of health.

The type of zombie that spawns is random though and while they are probably not dangerous enough to kill a player they most likely infect you. That's what makes them so dangerous. Their infection rate is very high.

Regular zombies, you can keep your distance from easily but fast zombies are surely gonna get you running for your money. Remember, all they have to do is be near you. The poison zombies can throw their head crabs at you which can also infect you if you go near them.

That's right. Headcrabs from TZs can infect you. Although rare I would also watch out when killing the fast ones. They drop that fast headcrab you might as well hit the kill bind.

But most likely your just gonna get infected by another player who was foolish to get in contact with a zombie or another infected player. Through my testing with this t-virus seems to be the primary way of its spread. NPCs would easily retreat into one another infecting the whole lot of them.

The only way I can see you surviving is if you have a hazmat suit the addon gives you in the protection tag. While it does kinda obscure your vision a bit it's better than getting infected and I promise you that you will get infected. I found it very easy to do. The hazmat will basically make the TZs into just regular HL2 zombies with lots of health.

Oh sometimes they will also spawn rare zombie spawn which are just bigger hl2 zombies with even more health. They are actually much less dangerous since they usually get stuck when spawned. If they are free and about just go into a building there too big to get in.

But as the title implies this isn't just about explaining what it is but what would happen if you dropped it in a multiplayer server.

Let's say a darkrp server with the regular downtown map since that is easy to imagine. Let's say this server has 32 players. From my logic of how these servers work the farther away from spawn the less players you will see.

Let's say the spawn is at the town square with the fountain and stuff. Lets say the admins are planning on doing this. The worst course of action would be to infect someone as far away from spawn as possible. Maybe a wandering civilian near the red factories.

Let's say nobody but the admins know this will happen and know what the t-virus is.

An invisible admin infects a wandering civilian. The symptoms don't show immediately so he continues to wander around. Let's say he does not bump into anyone or says hi to any bases. He also does not go to the middle of town.

But then he starts to notice the creepy music and his vision starts to grow dark. He starts to panic. Tries to call admin but gets nothing. Starts panicking more. NOW let's start messing with two scenarios. While I believe that this can only go down one road whos to say that dirt roads are roads.

Best scenerio? Dies before he could get in contact with anyone. Some player with a gun sees zombie. He shoots zombies without getting infect himself. The end.

Worst case scenerio AKA the only road. He goes to try and get help from other players. Where are players usually at on a downtown map? The PD area. He goes there and tries to ask for help. Players who see him red will get curious about him since ya know he's turning red.

The number of infected people will go from one to maybe about 10 to 25. Remember, infect players will instantly infect you if you are at a certain distance. So lets say he goes into a gun store pact with the player and the room is tight. A domino effect occurs. Everyone is infected in there including the gun dealer since the props won't save him.

One player gets infected than the guy next to him gets infect than the guy passing by gets infect and then everyone in the PD gets infected because he walked in there. ETC ETC!

Once the first victim dies and produces the first TZ I'm pretty sure the players will catch on of what is happening especially as soon as they see that they too are having themselves the symptoms the infected dude had. PANIC will insue.

It won't be long before people start turning and thats when the real fun will begin. It won't be long before the centered of the map goes into CHAOS! Players will try to run away from it which I believe will only spread the virus across the map.

The middle of the map will be overrun with zombies. If the zombies get to spawn well its game over from there. People will spawn and instantly get infected. At this point, you might as well restart the server.

Though if the admins were smart they'd make an event where they'd have the police lockdown an area like the red factory area then either A: put some infect NPCs in there or B: Infect a few players there. The police have to keep anything from coming in or out.

They could put price money inside the area so that people would want to break in. The admins could monitor the entire event with hazmats of there own. If someone got out infected they could simply kill them, the players they infected and the TZs

But hey this entire idea could be stupid and this addon to OP to put anywhere. Type in the comments what you think about this and how would you use this in a multiplayer game.
