    Realistic rockets?

    I'm wondering if anyone has had any success building a "realistic" method of rocket propulsion, basically one that does not use thrusters. The dream is to use exploding barrels as fuel to push yourself into space, but there just isn't enough force and it doesn't scale. So the next best thing seems to be using wire forcers to push props out of the back of the craft to propel the craft forward, (using ignited exploding barrels just for fun).

    My issue seems to be designing a propellant tank. Unwelded props seem to spaz through each other, particularly at seams where pieces of the tank are welded together. I want to make some kind of magazine of exploding barrels with a flap at the bottom that can control how many come out, and a wire forcer imparts momentum to the craft as the barrel is shot out the bottom. Everything I try turns out aggressively shitty. Not enough force to get off the ground, whole magazine explodes at once, barrels get stuck, flap isn't strong enough to keep shut or can't shut after being open. I've also tried designing a rocket engine that works in zero gravity, using some kind of piston with elastics to push barrels to the forcer. Needless to say this was a hot mess.

    I've played gmod off and on since 2006 so I'm 100% aware that this is par for the course. Just wondering what anyone else has come up with. It doesn't seem like gmod is very good at handling contraptions with "loose parts" on the inside. I'm having loads of fun nonetheless.

    EDIT: Also I'm trying to avoid prop spawners. Otherwise this would be a lot easier, at least the liftoff engines. Zero G engines would still be tricky...

    Humble brag, but I voiced in a few things with DasBoSchitt and a few others. I really enjoyed making people laugh and all the fun I had helping with machinima. I was just wondering if anyone watched or remembered them.

    Cant find mods that changes objects and NPC appearence

    I used to have a mod that would let me change the appearence of NPCs and other object by using the tool gun to select what I want it to look like by right clicking then left clicking on the object I wanted to change. I cant find it anywhere does anyone know the name of the mod?
